Developer History: Orascom Development Holding (ODH)

Orascom Development Holding (ODH), founded in 1976 by the Sawiris family and headquartered in Switzerland, is Egypt’s most established town-maker. They are pioneers in creating "Destination Cities"—fully self-sufficient urban ecosystems.

• El Gouna Legacy: ODH is the architect of El Gouna, the Red Sea’s premier resort town. They’ve successfully replicated this integrated model in Makadi Heights, Taba Heights, and across Europe in Andermatt (Switzerland) and Montenegro.
• West Cairo Expansion: O West marks Orascom's first entry into the Cairo residential market, designed to bring the "spirit of El Gouna" to the capital.

O West is a massive 1,007-acre (approx. 4.2 million $m^2$) development, making it one of the largest in West Cairo. The project is designed with a "pedestrian-first" mindset, featuring a master plan by HOK and landscaping by EDSA.

• The Concept: The town is built at a higher elevation than its surroundings (approx. 30–50 meters above road level), providing cooler temperatures and views of the Pyramids from certain units.
